Key advice: Focus on clarity and structure. Paragraph organization and tables must be immediately readable. Demonstrate mutual benefit by showing why they should invest in you, how every party benefits (you become an expert, institutions gain expertise, everyone is better positioned afterward), and maintain coherence throughout. Make no parts appear random. Every training, communication activity, and experiment must directly serve the goal of making you an expert. The key is demonstrating cross-pollination where your expertise grows, institutions benefit, and the field advances.
